The flipped classroom is a way to structure a classroom that is quite different than your typical classroom. With the increase in the use of technology within our society, this is becoming a more common way to teach our students today/ With this teachers are able to post lectures on-line for their student to view while at home and when they arrive in class the next day they are instructed to complete their homework. This classroom design is not successful in every subject because lecture needs to occur within the classroom in order for students to ask questions and actively participate in discussions. With the flipped classrooms, students are able to replay lectures as often as they would like which can help with their studying practices for the tests so that they will be more successful when they are being accessed. Here are some podcasts addressing ways in which teachers are able to flip their classrooms and be successful-- https://www.mheducation.com/highered/highered/di...
My twitter experience has been interesting so far. I am really enjoying having to post on twitter for this class and also using it to learn more about education and technology uses within the classroom. I find it most beneficial to follow people who are tweeting about education and technology to not only see what they are doing within their classroom and the how they are using it but to also learn about education and technology and what I can do to better my usage of technology so that my students can benefit more from the way that I am teaching. Twitter has a lot of benefits and I feel as though it is an easy way to create a personal network with individuals that you wish to follow so that you can stay in the know when they are tweeting important and relevant information about education and their uses of technology within in Creating a class website was defiantly a challenge within itself, but it was a fun challenge because i was able to explore and find thin...
I created a Web quest for an interactive website on the water cycle to use in an upper level elementary school class room. With this I could help my students learn the water cycle in a different way then the initial way that I taught it within the classroom. With this web quest, students could get "into" the water cycle and understand the process better so that when asked questions on an assesment they would be able to confidently answer the question. I know that i like to learn concepts in multiple ways and this would be another way that they could use to learn and study each part of the water cycle. I feel as though this technology could really aid my teaching and my students learning when the water cycle is covered within a science lesson.
This is cute and nicely designed! Love it!
